STEREOSCOPIC PICTURE DISPLAY METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a stereoscopic image having good resolution in the right-and-left direction without lowering the light utilization efficiency.

SOLUTION: An image for a left eye divided to thin strip-shaped pixels for a left eye L1 or the like and an image for a right eye divided to thin strip-shaped pixels for a right eye R1 or the like are displayed on an image display means 10 so that the pixels for the left eye and the pixels for the right eye are alternately arrayed in the right-and-left direction. The stereoscopic image is visually observed by visually confirming the image for the left eye only with a left eye EL and also visually confirming the image for the right eye only with a right eye ER by using a left-and-right images separation means 12 arranged on the front side of the picture display means. The stereoscopic image visually observed is made a high-resolution picture by deflecting the light passing through the separation means 12 by using a light deflecting means 14 in synchronism with the shift of the picture while vibratingly shifting the image displayed on the display means 10 by as much as one pixel.
