<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a digital image information processing apparatus and digital image information processing method in which a deterioration in picture quality can be reduced even when original compressing processing is further applied to compressed input image information. <P>SOLUTION: The digital image information processing apparatus includes an input means for inputting image information which is compressed with a first compression scheme, a re-compression means (53) for using an image processing parameter that is common with the first compression scheme, to compress the image information inputted by the input means with a second compression scheme, an identification information generating means (60) for generating information for identifying the compression scheme in the re-compression means, and a recording means (54) for recording the image information which is compressed with the second compression scheme, and the identification information on a recording means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
