<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a measuring apparatus and enable the use of a fluorine source other than HF. <P>SOLUTION: The simple and quick measuring method of boron in a solution using an ion electrode 2 measures the concentration of boron in a solution to be tested 6 containing H<SB>3</SB>BO<SB>3</SB>. The method comprises adding sulfuric acid and a fluorine source to the solution to be tested 6 to form BF<SB>4</SB><SP>-</SP>, measuring a change in the concentration of BF<SB>4</SB><SP>-</SP>in the early stage of reaction with the ion electrode 2, and determining the concentration of boron in the solution to be tested 6 by bringing a relational expression about the concentration of H<SB>3</SB>BO<SB>4</SB>which approximates the formation speed of BF4<SP>-</SP>into correspondence with the measured change in the concentration of BF4<SP>-</SP>in the early stage of reaction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
