摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean the environment of a space such as a room by utilizing a photocatalyst material which exhibits photocatalyst function even under conditions of a weak ultraviolet intensity. <P>SOLUTION: The composite material having photocatalysis is prepared by forming a photocatalyst layer containing nearly rectangularly parallelepiped or elipsoidal anatase titanium oxide photocatalyst particles having an aspect ratio (a/b) of 1 to 4.5 [wherein (a) is the length, and (b) is the breadth] on the surface of a substrate. The composite material can produce an effective oxidation decomposition effect when it is simply irradiated with an ultraviolet radiation of an intensity as low as, for example, 0.05 to 100 &mu;W/cm<SP>2</SP>, desirably, 1 to 50 &mu;W/cm<SP>2</SP>. This cleans the environment of an ordinary residential room when the composite member having a photocatalyst layer of a simple shape and structure is set in the room in addition to an illuminator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
