PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently polish even a small polishing object. SOLUTION: A cylinder for storing the polishing object around a central shaft 4 of a rotary drum 3 together with an abrasive, is autorotatably supported around a rotary shaft. The rotary drum 3 is rotated in one direction by a main motor 11 via a V-belt 13. A V-belt 25 is wrapped around a sun pulley 15 rotatably arranged on the central shaft 4 and a planetary pulley 24 arranged in the respective cylinders. A geared motor 27 is arranged for transmitting driving force via a chain to a chain wheel integral with the sun pulley 15, and the cylinder is made to actively autorotate in the inverse direction of the drum 3 via the planetary pulley 24. A rotating speed of the cylinder is variably controlled by a shift means. When rotating the rotary drum in one direction, the cylinder autorotates in the inverse direction by revolving in the same direction as the drum 3.
