<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable optical device with good yield by solving a peculiar problem such as color mixture, void and irregular color in inexpensively manufacturing a color filter in simple process utilizing an ink jet system. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter which has at least a black matrix 2 on a light transmissive base plate 1, and where colored parts 4 and 5 are formed on the aperture part of a black matrix by an ink jet method has a partition 3 whose width is smaller than the black matrix on the black matrix. It is desirable that relation between the line width (x) of the black matrix and the width (y) of the partition on the black matrix satisfies 0.2x≤y≤0.8x and the partition is made ink repellent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
