<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed printing device control system for enabling an appropriate printer to be used without requiring a user to set each printer as a client or a server. <P>SOLUTION: A distributed peripheral device control method includes a step to issue a request to a peripheral device, a step to transmit device identification information to a server for communicating with an information device, a step to select a device driver according to the device identification information, a step to generate device dependent data, a step to relate a virtual port to the selected device driver and a step to transmit the device dependent data to the virtual port and then transmit them to the peripheral device via the information device in order to enable the peripheral device to execute a specified task. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
