PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device such as a video camera recorder where bounce photographing is performed without need of a private mechanism except for a strobe. SOLUTION: In the image pickup device, a liquid crystal display panel 7 which can be opened/closed and can freely revolve at a prescribed angle is arranged in a camera main body 1. The strobe 10 is incorporated at the back of the liquid crystal display panel 7. Thus, the liquid crystal display panel 7 is inclined upward or downward.
