METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SELECTING INSTRUCTION THREAD PROCESSED IN MULTITHREAD PROCESSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for changing selection of instruction threads in an SMT processor for interleaving an instruction from the different instruction thread for corresponding to a prescribed processor event or condition. SOLUTION: An interleaving rule execution element generates at least one reference instruction thread selection signal instructing one specified instruction thread transferring the instruction to an interleaved instruction stream at every processor clock cycle. Change of thread selection is supplied by an interleaving change structure element generating a final thread selection signal based on the reference thread selection signal and a feedback signal originating in one or a plurality of the conditions or events in various processor elements. The final thread selection signal instructs the instruction thread identical to the instruction thread that the reference thread selection signal instructs as the instruction thread transferring the instruction to the interleaved instruction stream, or can instruct the different instruction thread.
