PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary device and a method for moving camera capable of moving a camera easily in a short time along an inspecting object under the condition where the distance between the inspecting object and the camera is kept within a prescribed range. SOLUTION: A prevention net 12 is provided inclinedly under the sea water. This auxiliary device 20 for moving the camera has an abutting member 21 abutting to the prevention net 12 and a camera attaching member 23. An outer circumferential face of the abutting member 21 has a circular arc shape to project an outer circumferential shape viewed from a side abutting to the prevention net toward a moving direction, and has the circular arc shape to project an outer circumferential shape of a cross-section along the moving direction. Through holes are provided in the abutting member 21 and the camera attaching member 23 to restrain forces by a tidal current or the like from acting on the camera attaching member.
