PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester capable of giving a polyester molded item excellent in heat ageing resistance, hardly generating foreign matters, exhibiting excellent transparency and having a low AA content using a polyester polymerization catalyst which does not contain, as the main catalyst component, an antimony compound, a germanium compound, a titanium compound or a cobalt compound, a polyester molded item composed of the same and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The polyester composition suppressed in its AA content is obtained by using a polymerization catalyst comprising an aluminum compound in combination with a specific phosphorus compound and by adding an AA-decreasing agent in the manufacture of the polyester.
