PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microbe-controlling agent expressing highly controlling effects on bacteria, fungi, yeast, algae, and the like. SOLUTION: This microbe-controlling agent comprises N,N'-hexamethylenebis(4-carbamoyl-1-decylpyridinium salt), and a nitoroalcohol represented by formula (2) or a thiophene compound represented by formula (3), wherein, based on 1 pt.wt. of the N,N'-hexamethylenebis(4-carbamoyl-1-decylpyridinium salt), 0.2-19 pts.wt. of the nitroalcohol represented by formula (2) and 0.3-21 pts.wt. of the thiophene compound represented by formula (3) are compounded.
