FRAME STRUCTURE OF CAR BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame structure of a car body by combining members with different cross section, namely members with different strength and rigidity, while reducing the number of parts. SOLUTION: In the frame structure, a cylindrical section 6 disposed between a side frame 1a and a side sill 3a arranged outside the car body is formed at an end of cross member 5a connecting to a side section of the side frame 1a from the crossing direction, integrally with the cross member 5a extending to abut on the side sill 5a through the side frame 1a with a cross section smaller than that of the cross member 5a. Both of the cross member 5a and the cylindrical section 4 with strength and rigidity different from those of it are constituted of one component. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
