The bed (10) has a support frame (40) adjustably mounted in a stationary outer frame (20). The support frame is provided for an articulated mattress support (30), and has smaller dimensions that the articulated mattress support. A power assembly (50) for raising and lowering the flexible sections (30b-30d) of the articulated mattress support is mounted on the support frame.
