The power switch (10) has a switch pole housing (14) for receiving at least one switch pole (22) having switch contacts engaging one another in a given contact plane in the closed switch position, a switch shaft (12) transmitting drive forces to the switch poles. The switch pole housing is assembled from 2 housing shells (16) having a separation joint parallel to the contact plane, the switch shaft supported by at least 2 bearings (20) provided by one of the housing shells, with fixings securing the housing shells together provided by the second housing shell and one of the switch shaft bearings.
