The correcting device includes a cylindrical gear wheel (6) with an abrasive layer on its active correction surface to shape the flanks of the grinding worm (3) and a cylindrical roller (7), also with an abrasive layer, to suit the addendum circle diameter of the grinding worm. The gear wheel and the roller are fixed axially and against rotation to the workpiece spindle (1).
