Actuator for valves

The drive has a synchronous motor (2) with linear drive to drive an engine adjusting rod (4.2). A clutch for power transmission to the adjusting rod during engine start-up, is located between hub and magnet of the motor. A valve adjusting rod (4.1) is in axial active connection with the engine adjusting rod. A first stop (11.2) is located outside the motor, but inside the housing (10), near the end of the engine adjusting rod, and a second stop (11.1) is located near the front end of the valve adjusting rod. A spring element (5) is tensioned positively between the stops. A spring (9) transmits a signal to trigger a switching process, dependent upon the movements of the adjusting rods.
