<p>Two linked microprocessors (M1,M2) supply respective dynamic signals to a drive circuit (A1,A2) with two parallel branches. The functionality of each branch is tested individually. An acknowledgement of the switching state of the safety relay (S) is provided via an opto-coupler (O). In the event of a fault in one branch, a malfunction occurs and the automatic furnace is locked. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for carrying out the method.</p> |
