The crank rod has a crank head (2) fitted to a crank shaft via fixing screws between corresponding fixing flanges and provided with an eye (3) having a bearing bore (4) for a piston bolt of an engine piston. The crank rod is additionally secured to the part of the crank head above the eye via 2 threaded bolts (7), positioned within reinforcing ribs (16) on either side of the eye and 2 cooperating threaded nuts.
