Magnetic displacement or angle sensor

A linear response position and angle sensor has a U shaped block of three vertically magnetised permanent magnets (1) with identical repelling poles creating a flux free zone containing a magnetic sensor (5) and moving ferromagnetic resolver cam (6) above its arms (2, 3) with outer contour changing separation from the magnet base (4) and including a step (7). An independent claim is included for a second sensor with opposite direction for use in a difference mode.
