A programmable and controllable moving fence system (3) for handling livestock (2), that is capable of controlling the movement of the livestock on a feeding pasture lot (1) in order to control and optimize the pasture consumption during the feeding of the livestock. The system comprises a boundary fence (4a,4b,6,7) encircling the lot and a moving fence (3) crossing the lot and separating the lot into two lot portions, one portion containing the livestock and the other portion containing the pasture, with the lot portion having the pasture being controllably exposed to the livestock for feeding. <IMAGE> |
