PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the man-hours for replacing an abrasive belt by gaining the length of an abrasive belt while using the belt of finite length. SOLUTION: An abrasive belt 21 of a belt delivery reel 22 side is delivered by capstans 27, 28 and a pinch rollers 29, 30 while traveling at constant speed, tension is controlled by a belt tension 34 so as to set tension to a constant level, and the belt 21 is continuously traveled. In this condition, a work 1 supported to a work holder 45 is rotated for 180 degrees, and chamfering is done by means of grinding on two edge lines of the work 1. After the abrasive belt 21 is wound toward a belt winding reel 23 side, the abrasive belt 21 is rotatably driven in a reverse direction toward the belt delivery reel 22 side, and the above work is repeated. |
