PURPOSE: A hub and a hub cap are provided to prevent the hub cap from being displaced or loosened from the installation position by mounting the hub cap to the hub easily and by bending and removing the latching tab from the notch or the detent. CONSTITUTION: A hub assembly(20) of a vehicle is composed of a main hub wall(23) and a corner containing an O-ring(26). A hub cap(22) is removed from a gasket unit(24) of the O-ring. The hub is fastened to inner and outer bearing assemblies, and the inner and outer bearing assemblies are composed of tapered rollers driven in inner races and outer races. The rollers with the thread are engaged with the inner axial margin of the hub cap, and the wheel is engaged with the opening part by the flange of the hub assembly. The hub cap is composed of a transition surface(64) and a continuous hollow side wall(66). The continues axial margin of the hub cap is composed of a thread(70) and a discontinuous radial flange(72). A protruded part of a latching tab is combined with a notch(88) of the hub wall. |
