摘要 The present invention provides a liquid crystal display apparatus capable of improving an alternating current (AC) afterimage in room temperature and high temperature, and a driving method thereof. The liquid crystal display apparatus comprises: a liquid crystal display panel assembly including a plurality of pixels; a signal control unit generating a video data signal so as to shift a data voltage of black gradation among data voltages applied to the plurality of pixels as much as a first value, shift a data voltage of middle gradation as much as a second value, and shift a data voltage of white gradation as much as a third value; a data driving unit applying the data voltage to a plurality of data lines connected to the plurality of pixels; and a common voltage generating unit providing the liquid crystal display panel assembly with an optimal common voltage with respect to the data voltage of the white gradation when temperature of the liquid crystal display panel assembly is lower than a reference temperature, and providing an optimal common voltage with respect to the black gradation or the middle gradation when the temperature of the liquid crystal display panel assembly is equal to or higher than the reference temperature, wherein the first value is a value adding a first dummy value to a first offset value corresponding to a kickback voltage of the data voltage of the black gradation, the second value is a value adding a second dummy value to a second offset value corresponding to a kickback voltage of the data voltage of the middle gradation, and the third value is a third offset value corresponding to a kickback voltage of the data voltage of the white gradation.
