PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a control message in accordance with an MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service) in a mobile communication system is provided to transmit service state information during a short period while transmitting MBMS RB information during a relatively long period when periodically transmitting control information. CONSTITUTION: A UE checks whether an MBMS paging is received from an RNC(601). If so, the UE checks an MBMS identifier for distinguishing an MBMS corresponding to the MBMS paging(602). The UE drives a newly defined timer, and waits for receiving an S-CCPCH(Secondary Common Control Physical Channel)(603). The UE checks whether the timer expires(604). If not, the UE continuously confirms an MCCH(Minimum Control Channel) to receive a desired MBMS event information message(605). The UE confirms a type field of the received MBMS event information message, and performs an operation corresponding to the type field(606).
