PURPOSE: A functional flooring material comprising a sprayed metal layer is provided to increase heating efficiency and blocking effect against noxious waves, to inhibit the growth of bacteria and to emit far infrared rays favorable on humans. CONSTITUTION: The functional flooring material comprises a sprayed metal layer obtained by melting a conductive metal or metal alloys in a liquid state on at least one surface of a flooring material and spraying the metal melt to form a sprayed metal layer having a predetermined thickness by a metal spray technique. To prevent the peeling of metal in a flooring material, the surface to be sprayed is processed into an uneven surface or a surface treated with a rough surface forming agent such as an urethane-based resin paint, an epoxy resin paint and an acrylic resin paint, prior to metal spraying.
