Use of anti-oxidant compounds in increasing longevity of prematurely aged animals

Anti-oxidant compounds are used in increasing longevity in prematurely aged animals, with their classification as prematurely aged resulting from an exploratory test in a laboratory. They are then submitted to a diet supplemented with 0.1 per cent of N-acetyl cistine plus 0.1 per cent of thyroproline. This addition has a duration of four weeks in adult age and a further four weeks when the animals are aged. The application of the invention is to retard the deleterious effects of ageing, increasing life expectancy, which can be detected by an improvement in the immunitary function.
