PURPOSE: A muffler for a heavy equipment is provided to absorb noise by charging a sound absorbing member between an inner cylindrical body and an outer cylindrical body, and to prevent environmental pollution by protecting the sound absorbing member against high pressure and high temperature exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: A muffler comprises a muffler body(100) closed and formed cylindrically; a gas inlet pipe(200) communicated with the muffler body and fixed to the side of the muffler body to flow exhaust gas from an engine into the muffler body; a gas exhaust pipe(300) communicated with the muffler body to discharge exhaust gas; first and second partition plates(130,140) arranged vertically in the muffler body to divide the muffler body into chambers(150,160,170); and first and second connecting pipes(400,500) composed of holes(422,522), combined with the partition plates and inserted to the chambers. The muffler body is composed of an outer cylindrical body(110) and an inner cylindrical body(120) having holes(122) to flow noise into a space part(101), and a sound absorbing member(700) is charged in the space part between the inner cylindrical body and the outer cylindrical body.
