NON-PIGMENT MUTANT MICROORGANISM, M10356 OF HAHELLA CHEJUENSIS 96CJ10356 AND METHOD FOR PREPARING EXTRACELLULAR POLYSACCHARIDE THEREFROM

PURPOSE: A non-pigment mutant microorganism, m10356 of Hahella chejuensis 96CJ10356 and a method for preparing extracellular polysaccharide therefrom are provided. The extracellular polysaccharide has improved emulsion stability and whitening effect, so that it can be used as a biopolymer. CONSTITUTION: The non-pigment mutant microorganism, m10356(KCTC 10469BP) of Hahella chejuensis 96CJ10356 producing extracellular polysaccharide is provided, wherein Hahella chejuensis m10356(KCTC 10469BP) is produced by treating Hahella chejuensis 96CJ10356 with ethylmethane sulfonate; the extracellular polysaccharide is p-m10356; and the extracellular polysaccharide contains major saccharides of glucose, galactose and galactosamine in a ratio of 1:1:1.1, and heteropolysaccharide of galacturonic acid as a minor saccharide, and has molecular weight of 139 kDa. The method for preparing the extracellular polysaccharide comprises the steps of: inoculating Hahella chejuensis m10356(KCTC 10469BP) into M-m10356 medium; and culturing it at 25 deg. C and pH 7.
