PURPOSE: An air conditioner for a vehicle is provided to reduce a pressure drop, to improve a radiating effect, and to enhance a discharge effect of condensate. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner(200) for a vehicle comprises a case(21), an evaporator(50), a heater core(22), and a temp-door(41). An air inlet(23) for inflow of air is formed to the case. The case has a main passage(25) communicating with the air inlet, and first and second branch passages(26,27) extended from the main passage. The evaporator is installed to the main passage. The evaporator has plates comprising tubes having tank parts to at least one end, and radiant fins interposed in the tubes. The main flowing direction of air connecting the discharge side of the main passage from the air inlet is formed in a straight line. The heater core installed to the second branch passage. The temp-door is installed between the evaporator and the heater core, to selectively open and shut the first and second branch passages.
