The machine has a form-fill unit with a form shoulder (13) for transforming a flat web of foil material into a foil tube. Transverse sealing jaws are positioned below lower end of a fill tube (14) for forming transverse seals in the foil tube. A longitudinal sealing station (19) is positioned at one lateral side of the form tube for forming severable longitudinal seal at the location of an overlap. The form shoulder is asymmetrically shaped for forming the overlap in the foil tube. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a method for making bag-shaped packaging for products (b) a packaging for a mass of articles.
