A vibrating tool (3) has a vibration direction (7) and is pressed (9) perpendicular to this direction onto a component (1) to be vibrated. Vibration is transmitted from the tool onto the component to be vibrated via relief-like recesses (5) or raised areas in the component welding surface (8). An Independent claim is also included for a vibration transmitting tool for the process which has raised areas (6) or recesses corresponding to recesses or raised area in the component to be vibrated.
