The cheek rest (4), designed to be fitted to the butt of an assault rifle by upper (5) and lower (6) connectors so it covers the cartridge case ejection port, has a reinforcing element (8) and an additional layer (7) of a thermoplastic elastomer material that holds it together in the event of it breaking or cracking. The additional layer is overmolded by injection on the cheek rest in a mould and is between 1 and 2 mm thick.
