PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device-provided apparatus for automatic performance of polymerase chain reaction in at least one sample container containing a predetermined quantity of a liquid sample mixture.

SOLUTION: Disclosed is the control device-provided apparatus for automatic performance of the polymerase chain reaction in at least one sample container containing the predetermined quantity of liquid sample mixture, wherein the apparatus comprises: (a) a sample block having at least one well for the at least one sample container, (b) a computer providing a means for determining the temperature of the liquid sample mixture as a function of temperature of the sample block lasting for a predetermined period, (c) a heating and cooling control means controlled by the computer for changing the temperature of the sample block, and (d) a temperature sensor for the block thermally coupled to the sample block and sending the temperature of the sample block lasting for the predetermined period to the computer.
