<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a processing time, and to detect a traffic lane partitioning line. <P>SOLUTION: This traffic lane recognition device acquires an image around a vehicle (step S21), makes a part of parameters among a plurality of parameters variable to execute a pattern matching process by genetic algorithm to right and left white line-inside edge lines (step S23), fixes the part of parameters on the basis of a result of the pattern matching process, makes the other parameters among the plurality of parameters variable to execute a pattern matching process by genetic algorithm to right and left white line-outside edge lines, and recognizes a traffic lane on the basis of the pattern matching process (step S24). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
