<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planer light-emitting device with low power consumption, large light irradiation area, and having an uniform irradiation brightness over a whole surface. <P>SOLUTION: The planar light-emitting device 1 comprises an organic EL element 2 having a planar light-emitting surface 4 and a light guide element 5 by which the light from the organic EL element 2 is made incident, and is emitted from an irradiation surface 7 having a light-emitting area larger than that of the organic EL element 2. The light guide element 5 is made of a triangular prism-shaped transparent material, and respective surfaces are serving as an incident surface 6, irradiation surface 7, and a reflection surface 8 totally reflecting the light from the incident surface 6 toward the irradiation surface 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
