PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid injection device which can efficiently revert the drying state inside a volume pump with a built-in sliding rotor to the moist state. SOLUTION: The device is composed of the following: a head material; a control main unit which drives a liquid injection method based on the injection data; a cap material which is shiftable relatively between the position away from the head material and the position close to the head material; a suction path which is connected inside the cap material; and a volume pump which has a built-in sliding rotor and is formed in the suction path. The device is also composed of a state quantity recognition section, a reference state quantity setting section, and a judgment section. The state quantity recognition section recognizes the state quantity related to the internal drying state of the volume pump. The reference state quantity setting section sets up the reference state quantity. The judgment section judges whether the inside of the volume pump is dried or not by comparing the state quantity recognized by the state quantity recognition section and the reference state quantity set up in the reference state quantity setting section. According to the judgment result by the judgment section, the preparatory operation execution section executes a preparatory operation to make the inside of the volume pump to the moist state.
