Fuel-air mixture may pass through an inlet channel (16) into a chamber (15) with several short wide tubes (3) and long narrow tubes (4) leading to the individual cylinders (2). A rotary valve body (7) forms part of a valve assembly (5) and is accommodated in a cylindrical housing (6). The housing has a wide opening (11) for each cylinder and a narrow opening (13). The valve body may be rotated to line up wide (17) or narrow (18) passages with the entry port (8,9) for each cylinder.
