PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of keeping regulation of the peripheral speed and draft of a roll constant, and of manufacturing a grid having multiple kinds of thickness by limiting the thickness of a sheet in a multi-stage rolling process to one kind, in a method for making a sheet from a metal slab by rolling of a multi-stage roll to manufacture a grid for a storage battery by machining the sheet. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of the grid for a storage battery comprises: a first process for manufacturing the sheet by sequentially rolling a metal slab by a multi-stage roll and for rolling up the rolled sheet once; and a second process for manufacturing the grid for a storage battery by machining work while unrolling the rolled sheet. The manufacturing method is characterized by having a process for rolling the sheet by at least one-stage roll between the unrolling of the sheet in the second process and the machining process.
