PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer system which can perform an efficient control and a data transfer to a device connected to another interface between devices connected with USB and IEEE 1394. SOLUTION: A relay device 20 is provided between a PC 10 and a DVC 30 connected with USB and IEEE 1394. When the PC 10 controls the DVC 30 on the other end, a first command controlling the relay device, which is a command by a protocol of an interface of the PC 10 and a command by a protocol of an interface of a second device are capusuled to be transmitted to the relay device. Isochronous transfer channel 1 channel of the USB and isochronous transfer channel 1 channel of the IEEE 1394 are designated by the relay device, and the channels are used as channels transferring only a data stream between the PC 10 and the DVC 30.
