PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper powder with an irregular shape of a flake or the like superior in powder characteristics, which is more inexpensively manufactured than a flake copper powder which has been manufactured by a conventional physical technique. SOLUTION: The copper powder has such an irregular shape as the flake or a tablet, which can be directly obtained by a wet process. The method for manufacturing the copper powder with the irregular shape comprises adding ammonium ions, or ammonium ions and amino acid to a copper sulfate solution to adjust a pH of the solution and generate a copper ammine complex, adding a solution containing an alkali metal hydroxide to the product to react them, adding a reducing agent to the product in a controlled condition to crystallize copper, filtering the solution, cleaning, rinsing, and drying the residue.
