PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystalline compound meeting a plurality of physical properties in terms of general physical properties necessary for chemical compounds, small optical anisotropy, large dielectric anisotropy and high compatibility with other liquid crystalline compounds, to provide a liquid crystal composition, and to provide a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystalline compound is represented by formula(1) ( wherein, Ra is e.g. a 1-20C alkyl; A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>2</SP>and A<SP>3</SP>are each 1,4-cyclohexylene, 1,4-cyclohexenylene, 1,3-dioxane-2,5-diyl, 1,4-phenylene, pyridine-2,5-diyl, pyrimidine-2,5-diyl or pyridazine-3,6-diyl, wherein any hydrogen atom(s) may be substituted with halogen atom(s); Z<SP>1</SP>, Z<SP>2</SP>and Z<SP>3</SP>are each e.g. a single bond; and m and n are each 0 or 1 ).
