PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an anti-microbial agent which is safe for living bodies, has efficient anti-microbial effects, and has good handleability. SOLUTION: This anti-microbial agent is characterized by containing as an active ingredient one or more compounds selected from the transglucosylation product of a hydroxybenzoic acid, the transglucosylation product of a hydroxycinnamic acid, their derivatives, and their salts.
