The invention relates to a fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine, in particular for injecting fuel directly into the combustion chamber thereof. The inventive injection valve comprises a fuel input (12) for introducing fuel therein and an electrically controlled actuating device (24) which interacts with a valve assembly (28) for extracting fuel through a fuel output (18) and injecting it into the combustion chamber in a direct or indirect controlled manner. Said actuating device (24) comprises an electrically powered magnetic coil assembly (24a), an essentially soft magnetic yoke assembly (24b) interacting with said magnetic coil assembly and an essentially soft magnetic armature assembly (24c) interacting with the magnetic yoke assembly (24b) which and/or the magnetic armature assembly are embodied in such a way that it is possible to reduce eddy currents.
