The seat area (2) of the chair (1) can be used as a swivel mounted lid for a storage space located underneath. The backrest (3) can be folded over to the front serving as part of a sleeping area in combination with the seat (2) and another folding element. A lever (8), joined laterally between the lower area of the backrest (3) and the rear of the seat (2) is provided with a central bolt guided along a curved slot in a vertical positioned metal element (7) in order to facilitate reclining. A bolt at the lower end of the lever (8) can either be removed, or, in case of a spring supported bolt, pressed when the backrest (3) is to be folded for conversion.
