LIGHT GUIDE PLATE FOR SIDE SURFACE LIGHT EMISSION TYPE BACKLIGHT DEVICE, AND SIDE SURFACE LIGHT EMISSION TYPE BACKLIGHT DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate for a side surface light emission type backlight device and a side surface light emission type backlight device adopting the same.

SOLUTION: The side surface light emission type backlight device includes a point light source, a light guide plate having a light-incident part into which light is incident from the point light source and a light-irradiating face from which the light is irradiated, and a light path conversion means converting a path of the light travelling inside the light guide plate. The light-incident part includes a light-incident face positioned so as to face the light source and fitted with a prism pattern, and a first and a second faces for lessening a horizontal angle of the light passed through the light-incident face by reflecting the same, and formed in extension from the light-incident face toward a travelling direction of the light and positioned so as to face each other with a light axis as the center.
