<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of accurate detection of temperature in an exhaust pipeline of an internal combustion engine without receiving affection of exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine, and of, as a result, more surely preventing the failure of an exhaust gas sensor because of its being flooded with condensed water. <P>SOLUTION: A temperature sensor 42 is arranged outside the exhaust pipeline 47, temperature of the exhaust pipeline 47 is estimated by the temperature sensor 42, it is judged based on the temperature whether the exhaust pipeline 47 is in a condition that the condensate can exist, and when it is the condition that the condensate water can exist, the exhaust pipeline 47 is heated with heat medium heated by a combustion burner 43. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
