PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat sink which can maintain good thermal characteristic of a fin and be manufactured easily, in a heat sink which is so thin that molding is impossible in current extrusion processing and has a high fin. SOLUTION: In a heat sink of metal wherein many fins are disposed upright on one surface of a base laminae 1, each base 20 of a plurality of thin plates 2 turning to the fins is bonded to the base laminae 1 by friction stir welding. Variation of metal constitution by the friction stir welding of each of the joints attains to a part of wall thickness of the base laminae 1, and is made not to reach throughout the wall thickness direction of the base laminae 1.
