<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator and an air conditioning device capable of continuing operation without interruption even in a bad environment with high humidity. <P>SOLUTION: A relay RBY is laid in ON state in a negative ion generating mode, and the DC level in discharging of an electrode panel 56 is moved to the negative side. At this time, a resistance R1 is provided, whereby a leak current IL 2 can be restricted when a node AC2 to be connected naturally to the ground side is connected to a voltage application side, or when a current passage P is formed by water drops or the like. Accordingly, it can be prevented that a circuit breaker CB is interrupted by a swash to stop the operation of the ion generator 23.
