PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc alloy powder for an alkaline battery capable of further improving discharge characteristic while suppressing generation of hydrogen gas and improving the leak resistance of the battery. SOLUTION: This zinc powder alloy for alkaline battery comprises aluminum, bismuth, indium, and 3-18 ppm of thallium, and the remainder consisting of zinc and inevitable metals.
